how much is a meal?
Always good barbeque. And don't forget the fried chicken on Sundays!
It's one of the best places yet for serving hot food and not just warm to cold....
MoreDouble cheeseburger with fries was delicious and fairly priced!
Always excellent.
Can be hard to locate but well worth it. The restaurant is not located in Smiths Grove. Instead, Google this: Pig Kentucky. It's at the intersection of 422 and 259. Specialties are a pulled pork sandwich and fried (boneless) catfish. Good service, friendly people, price okay.
MoreGreat diner food served by some of the nicest people around. I had chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was so tender, the potatoes real and the green beans very, very tasty.
MoreReally sweet lady working when we came in for lunch. Great tea and the food is delicious. Super great find on our way into and out of Mammoth Cave park. They do takeout. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner.
MoreWell not many of these places left, but this is a GREAT old time country diner. Daily specials are great, menu items are great. Atmosphere and menu are just what you might expect; it is what it is, and it ain't fancy. Food is ALWAYS hot and fresh, dirt cheap. Kudos to the owners/operators and employees. You are loved.
MoreGreat food, ok service
Great home food cooking and great service.
Wish we could have eaten here but after a good meal in another smoke-stenched restaurant, making the meal miserable, I started looking through others' review comments to exclude places we wouldn't be able to stand the smell.Too bad, we really wanted to stop by. This seems to be common in Ky. so those averse to second-hand smoke, WATCH where you pick to dine!
MoreCouldn't believe the name. Bought a mug.
The food was pretty decent and the people were really nice. I’d like to come back on the weekend that’s when they have their chocolate gravy. I saw some reviews complain about the smoke. No one was smoking while I was there. But they do allow smoking, so that’s something to keep in mind if smoking bothers you.
MoreGreat lil diner friendly staff filling food done right frog legs r awesome find this place n chow down in a place thatll make u feel like ur a local even if ur 300miles from home
Morethe food was great !!! the people are very friendly!!!!
Home cooking and great people
Great pulled pork sandwich 😁
We happened upon this place on our way back from mammoth cave. It was delicious and fun to visit such a small cafe in the middle of nowhere. Very good food and great service.
MoreAmazing place to stop in for a bite! I was surprised to see ashtrays on the tables but pleasantly surprised because I am a smoker. I love being able to get a little history about the places I am eating! A local started telling all kinds of stories about the this adorable family diner. To be served by the owners themselves is something truly spectacular.
MoreI always go to the Porky Pig Diner after I've been hiking in Mammoth Cave National Park and it's ALWAYS great!!! I eat breakfast which is buffet style and I've never been let down. The service is great and very friendly and it's always clean. I would suggest the chocolate gravy! It sounds weird, but it's good. If you're ever passing by I would definitely suggest you try it out!
MoreThis is a very friendly local restaurant. With excellent food. I made a 20-minute trip just for their Roast Beef Manhattan. And don't forget the pie.
MoreSeemed nice but couldn't get past the cloud of cigarette smoke so we couldn't stay.
MoreFried chicken out of this world. Fish is great with home cooked style veggies and the cherry cobbler is heavenly. Oh did I mention that I like eating at Porky Pig Diner🙂
MoreThe food is always very good and the employees arenice.
Nice service nice people but they didn’t have any Porky the pig there. That was disappointing but the amazing service
MoreWonderful place to eat with your family. The people there are welcoming and are quick to get you your food. Prices are low with high quality country food.
MoreWe love the catfish there. Sorry to hear of Ramona' s illness.Get well soon Ramona!
MoreFantastic egg biscuits and coffee, super great service. Ken said he would recommend it to anybody.
MoreGreat place for Home cooked meal and friendly service!
Food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. Will definitely be back before we head home from vacation.
MoreHad lunch there on Saturday as a treat for Mothers Day. Food was delicious. Cherry cobbler was very good. Waitress was 5 stars. I will go back to Porky Pig Dinner real soon.
MoreGreat food and resonably priced.
It's a place where locals go and where everyone is treated well. Best known for catfish and smoked pork. Their homemade smoked sauce is extraordinarily tasty.
MoreThe Porky Pig Diner is my favorite restaurant. There is good food, plenty of it and at affordable prices. Moreover, it's a piece of rapidly disappearing Americana. Owned and operated by two of the finest people I've ever known. If, you are nearby, or even if you have to go out of the way, stop in the Porky Pig Diner!
MoreHad been at Mammoth Cave, so wanted to take my family to try the diner rather than go to fast food in Cave City. Reviews say they allow indoor smoking and photos show ash trays on the tables. I have two children and allergies to smoke. Considering Glasgow has been smoke-free, I’d forgotten some places still allow it. It would be great if they had a walk-up window or drive through for non-smokers to not have to be subjected to the unhealthy indoor air quality. They’ve been in business for many years though, I remember hearing about them from when I was in high school, so food must be good.UPDATE 1-17-20: The owner posted on Facebook that they’re going to be smoke free as of Jan 27th 2020!! Yay!! I updated my review from one to four stars. I’d done five, but need to try the food and see how friendly staff is first. I’ll update again after. Will be going soon! Thank you to the owners for giving us another place to eat near Mammoth Cave NP!
MoreIt’s been awhile since I’ve been here. However, every now and the Porky Pig Diner crosses my thoughts. We stumbled across it on a road trip. Great place and great food. I really remember the fries.
MoreI made the trip out there to have the Roast Beef Manhattan. As always it was excellent.
MoreDown home family environment. Wonderful small menu featuring catfish, liver and onions, pulled pork and the traditional fully dressed hamburger. The various pig novelties makes for an attractive decor and conversation pieces. Something on the menu for the entire family. Piggies all around the restaurant makes for a good time.
MoreGreat food at a great price!
Good food and great service! I spilled my soda and they didn't get mad. They moved me to a different seat and cleaned it up. Other places have not been so nice. Prices are fare for the food. I recommend trying them out
MoreGood foodGood people
Service and food were great!
Great food, owner was nice and friendly. Awesome place
The catfish is amazing. They have an awesome buffet. They allow smoking which is a real treat for me but if smoking bothers you I would suggest dining elsewhere.
MoreI'm glad I listened to my friend! Great food and service, I will be back again!
best dang BBQ aroundrest of the food is awesome too...
I always enjoy a trip to Porky Pig Diner. Their smoked pulled pork has a great flavor as well as everything else they have to offer. If you visit, ask if they have lemon lush on the menu. You won't be sorry that you made the trip to Pig Ky.
MoreThis place is the BEST. My husband's uncle shared Porky Pig with us recently. It is an out-of-the-way hole in the wall GEM. The food is excellent, the staff is wonderful...We have been three times in three weeks. It is an hour and a half drive for us. That should tell you something...
MoreRamona and Calvin made us an amazing lunch! We had the pork, some chicken tenders and the catfish and EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!!! Thank you for a wonderful stop on our vacation!!
MoreIf not for asking the park ranger at Mammoth Cave, we would have driven right past this place. It seems like a family-owned diner and everyone was super friendly to us. The food was great (definitely went up more than a few times to the buffet). They treated us like family. If you're looking for some southern-style homemade comfort foods, stop in at Porky Pig Diner. Oh, and make sure to grab a brownie to go....Delicious!Visited March 2015
